Chef Michelangelo | Authentic Italian Chef

About me

My story is simple and authentic, like the land I come from, the Emilia Romagna region, located in the heart of northern Italy.

Chef Michelangelo

I was born in Bologna, a town that is effervescent, easygoing, culturally and industrially avant-garde.

It is the city that has the oldest university in the western world.

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Ducati are all manufactured there just within few miles of each other and, above all, the production of classical foods and rich traditional cuisine are very important in this region.

Prosciutto of Parma, Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar of Modena, lasagna, Bolognese sauce and many other fresh pastas such as tortellini and tagliatelle have their origins there such as many other famous Italian dishes.

My parents came from two diverse places in Italy: my father Michele from Naples, my mother Angela from Bologna, both cities known for their superb cuisines.

My cooking style is the expression of their different heritages resulting in delicious simple meals, with many of the recipes handed down from my grandmothers.

I have lived and worked in Florence, Milan, Treviso, Rome, Parma and traveled throughout Italy, savoring and discovering the many different regional cuisines.

Now I want to share the wealth of knowledge and experience I have accumulated and savored with everyone who has the desire and the passion to eat well.
